Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
I will try to accommodate dietary requirements as much as possible, however I am unable to cater for gluten intolerance nor for vegans. It’s very important that you let me know any allergies, intolerances, etc, before you book.
Is there a dress code?
No. Just wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Are you licensed?
No. All my events are BYO ( you will not be charged corkage!). I do have limited fridge space to cool bottles if required.
Are your events suitable for babies or children?
Unfortunately not; all events are targeted at adults and are not suitable for infants or children under 18 years of age.
Is your venue accessible for wheelchairs?
I regret my venue is not accessible for wheelchairs.
How do I know where the venue is?
Chez Shamwari is located in the heart of the historic World Heritage Site of Saltaire. The exact location is only provided on a ‘need to know’ basis and is sent out to all guests a few days before the event via email.
How do I know what’s on the menu?
A menu is published via email about a week prior to the event.
What is the cost?
Costs are shown against each event but they can vary depending on the menu and type of event, e.g. there is a premium for private bookings.
How do I pay?
Payment is required in full in advance at the time of booking by direct banking transfer.
How do I book a place?
By email to: info(at)chezshamwari(dot)com stating the event and how many places you require.
What if I need to cancel?
I do understand that life has a way of presenting unforeseen circumstances beyond our control and as a result you may have to cancel your booking. However, cancellations do have a big impact on me and come with a significant time overhead. Cancellation charges are as follows:
- 3 weeks before the event your ticket price will be refunded in full, minus a small admin fee.
- with less than 3 weeks to the event, your ticket is not refundable unless I am able to fill the spaces in which case the conditions in (a) apply.
- transfer of tickets to another event may be possible but is not guaranteed as it will depend on availability and whether I have the time to do the administration.
- if I cancel an event then your ticket price will be refunded in full with no administration fee.
Who will be the other guests?
That’s the intrigue! Tea will be served around one table. So if you come on your own or in a group, you will be seated with all the other guests and encouraged to enjoy their company and the food together.
How many people can you cater for at one time?
There are spaces for 6 people. For private bookings, the expectation is that you book all 6 spaces for your party.
