The theme for March 2014’s Saltaire Clandestine Cake Club event was effectively carte blanche (but strictly within the rules!). ‘Whatever you fancy’ literally left members to choose to bake whatever caught their imagination for that moment. As a result, I had no preconceptions as to what variety of cakes we may have and it was no surprise to see that a great variety turned up. There were some similarities of flavours but each cake totally different to its closest neighbour.
It was our first visit to our venue for the evening, Fox & The Magpie, a new creative space and shop in Shipley owned and run by one of our members. They were wonderful hosts and couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and to make our evening so enjoyable. So a very big thank you goes to them!
