What comes into your mind when you hear the words ‘tutti frutti’?  The song by Little Richard?  The multi coloured sweets by Rowntrees (‘tooty frooties’)? Or even the 1980s TV drama?

Well for us at Saltaire Clandestine Cake club it was all about fruit.  The brief wasn’t specific about what form the fruit should be in so the ‘canvas could be painted’ in any way we liked.  It was very interesting to see the take on the theme:  we had fruit in the ‘flesh’ so to speak, cakes incorporated with just flavours of fruits, curds and purées.

Our host for the evening was the lovely Fox and The Magpie, a gift shop and creative space in Shipley.   We were made to feel very welcome and were treated to a very good cup of tea indeed served out of delightful mix and match china.  It made the cake taste even better!  So a very big thank you to them.
